Medical Career
Kevin earned his M.D. from Dartmouth Medical School after attending the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program at Bryn Mawr College. He went on to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, becoming board-certified in Internal Medicine.
Throughout his career, Kevin has been a visionary of sorts, combining his creative instincts with a passion for transformative innovation in medicine. He was the founding medical director of the nation’s first fully staffed hospitalist program, Mercy Inpatient Medical Service (MIMS), and he co-founded Rx.com, the first online pharmacy, along with its companion medical information platform, Rx.magazine.
Kevin’s diverse roles also include serving as the Director of Palliative Medicine at Western Massachusetts Hospital, as Chief Medical Officer at the Hospital for Special Care, and as Principal Physician at Connecticut’s Department of Correction during the COVID-19 crisis. He has launched groundbreaking initiatives, such as Post-Acute Now, a home-based nursing home company and Golan HealthCare Group, a mobile multi-specialty medical practice for Assisted Living and Nursing Home residents. Additionally, he created Connecticut’s largest multi-site hospitalist practice, Hospital Internists.
His work has taken him across the United States and internationally, but his focus remains the same: delivering innovative, patient-centered care while pushing the boundaries of what is possible in medicine.
